The Range Rover Evoque: Strap on Your 4WD Tyres!

Thursday, October 20th, 2011

The Range Rover Evoque is the spawn of BMW X6, Infiniti FX, AMC Eagle all rolled into one.  Finally it is available and I can definitely say that it is pure aesthetic pleasure and so much more. Just take a look for yourself:

Range Rover Evoque 4WD

The Range Rover Evoque is like a smart, sexy, beautiful woman in stiletto heels who is also willing to take those heels off and put on some hiking boots for you.  Do not be fooled by how soft this SUV looks.  You can easily replace the tyres with some Off Road Tyres which increases the height clearance from the ground and take on some challenging terrain.  The Range Rover Evoque has a 240 horsepower, turbocharged four-cylinder which is still capable of doing things rough after going down from eight cylinders like the old Rovers.  And have I mentioned that the Evoque does 0 to 60 mph in 7.1 seconds, can tow 4400 pounds goes 19/28 mpg for fuel efficiency.

The Range Rover Evoque is a posh crossover vehicle but is still up to the task of its daily duties.  The Evoque showed that its got some chops to set it apart from other crossover vehicles.  During the test I even drove into a deep puddle and can guarantee that the waterproofing works and will definitely keep you Gucci shoes nice and dry all the time.

If you expect to give up cash, to fit into the Evoque lifestyle, you may want to try one on for size first. There’s less room compared to the LR2, but the Evoque is wider, so overall interior volume isn’t intolerable. Up front it’s quite comfortable for the average adult, a little less so in the back seat but not objectionably so, so long as you’ve bought into the coupe-like premise. What’s not easy to swallow is a big adult gut, if you have to clamber into the back seat of three-door Evoques. Meanwhile, the car itself can tote almost a couple dozen cubic feet of luggage, no matter which body you choose.

This car will be selling many units just on its looks alone cause it stands out from all the other crossover models out on the road right now.  I would definitely buy one for myself if my wife will agree to it.  After writing this review I may have a chance at selling the whole idea to her.  I also discovered that in the UK there will be Spice Girls edition, well its just actually one Spice Girl. Since she used to like the Spice Girls when she was young maybe it wouldn’t do any harm to also tell her that there will also be a Victoria Beckham Edition of the Evoque.  But maybe they can make it a Spice Girls edition if they can make a jingle like “If you wannabe my Rover, you’ve gotta get with my friends.” or maybe Victoria would not like that.

The four-door Evoque starts at $43,995; the two-door costs $44,995. Prices don’t stray too far, with the priciest Evoque (the Dynamic Premium two-door) going for $52,895.  I just do not know yet how much the  Victoria Beckham Edition of the Evoque costs.
