Motorcycle industry is a booming industry in Australia

Tuesday, October 25th, 2011

The Federal Chamber of Automative Industries (FCAI) has recently released a report on motorcycle sales in Australia and it showed an impressive and significant growth in motorcycle sales in the third quarter of the current year.

Motorcycle Racing MotoGP

According to the report, there has been a 4.5% increase in a span of nine months compared to the same period in the previous year. There were 77, 129 motorcycles that were delivered to various customers in different parts of Australia, 3,319 units more than last year. 26, 750 of the total motorcycles were delivered between the months of July and September alone.

“Growth in motorcycle sales – particularly in the ATV and scooter segments – continues to significantly outpace other automotive sectors in Australia”, said Rhys Griffiths, FCAI motorcycle manager said. “Strong up-take in the ATV segment is likely to be the result of the economic recovery in regional and rural Australia earlier in the year, where drought has been a mitigating factor for several years.” This is due to the 25.8% growth in all-terrain vehicles (ATV) all over Australia.

He also pointed out that the sales of scooters will continue to increase for several years, and this assumption is backed up by the fact that and 12.1% year-to-date growth compared to last year. “Strong growth of scooter sales and the resilience of overall road bike sales suggest commuters are finding motorcycles to be a practical solution to high fuel prices and inner city traffic congestion. Despite road-bike sales falling 1.5 per cent year-to-date, the segment is still the largest in the market, accounting for 36.9 per cent of all motorcycles sold,” he said in a statement. Most of the scooter riders have also been spending on essentials such as helmets and motorbike speedo, thus, increasing the sales of the said accessories.

The growth can also be due to the increasing popularity of motorcycling as a sport in Australia. Local traders such as s3 performance have noticed that  Motorcycle parts have also increased in sales, especially LED Work Lights as a lot of the riders like to enhance their bikes. There was a report that states that seven of the top 10 motorcycles in Australia are off-road bikes. Riders also spend on various accessories as motorbike pads, body gears and motorbike speedometer and it also helps the industry to grow more.

The Range Rover Evoque: Strap on Your 4WD Tyres!

Thursday, October 20th, 2011

The Range Rover Evoque is the spawn of BMW X6, Infiniti FX, AMC Eagle all rolled into one.  Finally it is available and I can definitely say that it is pure aesthetic pleasure and so much more. Just take a look for yourself:

Range Rover Evoque 4WD

The Range Rover Evoque is like a smart, sexy, beautiful woman in stiletto heels who is also willing to take those heels off and put on some hiking boots for you.  Do not be fooled by how soft this SUV looks.  You can easily replace the tyres with some Off Road Tyres which increases the height clearance from the ground and take on some challenging terrain.  The Range Rover Evoque has a 240 horsepower, turbocharged four-cylinder which is still capable of doing things rough after going down from eight cylinders like the old Rovers.  And have I mentioned that the Evoque does 0 to 60 mph in 7.1 seconds, can tow 4400 pounds goes 19/28 mpg for fuel efficiency.

The Range Rover Evoque is a posh crossover vehicle but is still up to the task of its daily duties.  The Evoque showed that its got some chops to set it apart from other crossover vehicles.  During the test I even drove into a deep puddle and can guarantee that the waterproofing works and will definitely keep you Gucci shoes nice and dry all the time.

If you expect to give up cash, to fit into the Evoque lifestyle, you may want to try one on for size first. There’s less room compared to the LR2, but the Evoque is wider, so overall interior volume isn’t intolerable. Up front it’s quite comfortable for the average adult, a little less so in the back seat but not objectionably so, so long as you’ve bought into the coupe-like premise. What’s not easy to swallow is a big adult gut, if you have to clamber into the back seat of three-door Evoques. Meanwhile, the car itself can tote almost a couple dozen cubic feet of luggage, no matter which body you choose.

This car will be selling many units just on its looks alone cause it stands out from all the other crossover models out on the road right now.  I would definitely buy one for myself if my wife will agree to it.  After writing this review I may have a chance at selling the whole idea to her.  I also discovered that in the UK there will be Spice Girls edition, well its just actually one Spice Girl. Since she used to like the Spice Girls when she was young maybe it wouldn’t do any harm to also tell her that there will also be a Victoria Beckham Edition of the Evoque.  But maybe they can make it a Spice Girls edition if they can make a jingle like “If you wannabe my Rover, you’ve gotta get with my friends.” or maybe Victoria would not like that.

The four-door Evoque starts at $43,995; the two-door costs $44,995. Prices don’t stray too far, with the priciest Evoque (the Dynamic Premium two-door) going for $52,895.  I just do not know yet how much the  Victoria Beckham Edition of the Evoque costs.

Monday, October 17th, 2011

The Lexmark X203n multifunction printer is an affordable easy to use all-in-one printer that won’t put a hole in your pocket. Now, let’s break down what the X203n printer is made of.

In a nutshell, Lexmark X203n is used for copying, scanning, and printing. The printing speed of which is 23 ppm. Not only that, it prints more quietly and more efficiently compared to other printers belonging to the same category. The Quiet mode makes it possible to minimise noise emitted during printing by adjusting the speed of the print. You also have the option to minimise or disable the sounds made when pressing keys as well as the alarms. You may also use the Quiet mode with the Eco Mode.

The Lexmark X203n multifunction printer’ Eco mode makes it possible to conserve paper and energy through three options. First, you have the Energy Saving Mode. This means that the advanced paper start and the back light will be disabled. Another thing is that the scanner lamps will only be used when the a scan job needs to be done. Second is the Paper Saving mode where your print logs are disabled. Third and last option is called the Energy + Paper Saving mode. Obviously, the features mentioned before will be employed in this feature. This printer is also able to conserve paper by routing the scanned files to your network folders, LDSS, FTP. And email destinations.

Other than the Eco mode, the X203n also features a Power Saver. It lets the user minimise the power state of the printer after you are done with the printing. You can adjust settings from 1 to 240 minutes.

Next, the Lexmark X203n multifunction printer is also good for the environment for it supports making use of recycled paper. That’s definitely a plus point, especially if you are a fan of all things green. The print resolution is not bad either. It features a 1200 x 1200 dpi resolution. The higher the dpi, the better your prints come out. Be sure to keep that in mind when hunting for printers. This printer is also perfect for you if you want to conserve on toner. The Toner Darkness Control feature lets the user adjust the darkness of the prints that will then help in saving toner. This multi-function printer just lacks a fax feature, but the Lexmark X203n is compatible with Mac and Linux to make amends for this absence.

The Lexmark X203n is compatible with the X203A11G toner cartridge and the X203H22G photoconductor unit,  both of which are available to buy online from Cartridges Direct.com.au.
